Five-time Masters champion and golf legend, Tiger Woods has refused to rule himself out of clinching a sixth Masters title this year.
The 47-year-old believes he is a serious contender, despite his honest admission that his mobility is not “where he would like it to be”.
Woods ended at 47th on the standings last year, after returning to competitive golf 14 months following a high-speed car crash.
“Whether I am a threat or not, who knows,” the American golfer said.
“People probably didn’t think I was a threat in 2019 either but that turned out OK. Prior to my back fusion, I didn’t know if I was ever going to play the game at any kind of level.
“I was able to do that and come back and play and I happened to win a major along the way and with the accident it has been a tough road.”
Only Jack Nicklaus, nicknamed the Golden Bear, has won more Green Jackets than Woods (six), whose return in 2019 after a successful back surgery remains one of the most sensational comeback stories in the sport.
The Masters takes centre stage between April 6th and 9th at the Augusta National Golf Course in Washington.
