Tiger Woods gives positive update on ankle injury

Tiger Woods has given a positive update on his ankle injury saying he has “zero issues” with it but stated that other injury problems still remain.

The 15-time golf major champion has not competed in any event since he withdrew from the third round of the Masters back in April and needed surgery to repair a bone in his ankle from a previous fracture he sustained on the ankle.

“That pain is completely gone,” 47-year-old Woods said.

“My ankle is fine. Where they fused my ankle, I have absolutely zero issue whatsoever.

“But all the surrounding areas are where I had all my problems and I still do. So you fix one, others have to become more hypermobile to get around it, and it can lead to some issues.”

Woods announced that he will be returning to golf course in January when The Golf League (TGL), a golf Initiative with rival with Rory McIlroy, officially launches. He will co-own one of the league’s teams – Jupiter Links Golf Club – and will play for them.

“Having the opportunity to not only compete, but also own a team to represent Jupiter (his Florida-based team) is an exciting chapter for me,” Woods stated.

He also took a dig at the LIV Golf tour, saying TGL’s format was simpler.

“Some of the stuff I’ve seen in LIV… I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on. Here it’s very simple.”
