Team Brazil claim maiden victory at historic E1 Lagos GP

Team Brazil clinched their first-ever win in the E1 Lagos Grand Prix on Sunday, as powerboat duo Timmy Hansen and Leva Millere-Hagin led the team to victory through the group stages, race-off, and final, Afrosport reports.

Their win earned them 38 points, taking their overall tally to 89, as they finished ahead of Team Blue Rising in second and Team Drogba in third.

Championship front-runners Team Rafa and Team Brady both missed out on the podium this time.

The E1 Lagos GP is an all-electric powerboat race that blends cutting-edge technology, environmental sustainability, and high-speed action on water. It brought together international teams and fans for an unforgettable weekend of competition.

Lagos became the first African city to host the prestigious E1 Racing Championship, with the event held on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, at Victoria Island.

Speaking after the final, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hailed the event as a milestone for the city.

“Hosting the E1 Grand Prix is not just about sport. It is about innovation, environmental responsibility, and putting Lagos on the global map for future-focused development,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.
