Tanzania will host the 2024 ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup qualifiers where six countries (Nigeria, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Namibia and Tanzania) will battle it out in the capital city of Dar es Salaam from July 23 to July 30.
The Dar Gymkhana Club Ground and the University of Dar-es Salaaml will be the venues for the qualifiers, the former hosting eight matches while the latter will host seven games.
Hamisi Abdallah, Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) stated that everything is in place for a successful qualifying event.
“We are excited and feel honoured to host an event of such magnitude for the next generation of cricketers,” he said.
“Our facilities are in good shape and the other logistics are going on well off the field. The preparations are in the final stages. We are hopefully going to deliver a quality tournament.
“We look forward to an exciting event as we get to showcase what Tanzania has to offer.”
