Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, is up for the Spanish Liga F’s inaugural Player of the Month award for September, Afrosport reports.
The 24-year-old has been in immaculate form for Atletico Madrid especially during the month of September where she notched two goals and provided two more in two of their three league games.
Ajibade recorded an assist in Atletico’s 2-0 win over 10-player Granada on opening day.
Although she drew blank in their 2-1 over Deportivo La Coruna on matchday two, she got back among the goals in their 4-0 thumping of Valencia, scoring a brace and providing the assist for their opener.
The Nigerian will have to compete with six other nominees for the award including Barceona’s Ewa Pajor, Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir, Levante Badalona’s María Llompart, Athletic Club Femenino’s Nerea Nevado, Karen Araya (Madrid CFF), and Alaves’ Elba Verges.
