The Super Falcons of Nigeria dropped two places in the latest FIFA Women’s world rankings released on Friday.
The most successful African women’s team were previously ranked 34th but have now dropped to 32nd despite remaining unbeaten within 90 minutes since February when they lost 1-0 to Colombia in the Women’s Revelations Cup.
The Falcons however remain number in Africa as they gear up to participate at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and potentially the Summer Olympic Games with a penultimate qualifier against Cameroon to come in February.
South Africa remain second on the continent but dropped seven places to 52nd. There were also two place drops for Morocco (60th), Ghana (61st) while it was a one-place drop for Zambia (70th) and a massive 12-place drop by Cameroon (68th). Mali were the only side in the African top 10 to make a leap globally, jumping from one place to 81st.

Nambia made the biggest jump of any team in the global rankings, gaining 14 places to move into 126th. There was also a first time entry in the rankings for Central African Republic (145th) and a reappearance for Madagascar (188th).
