Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has lost his mother just two months after the demise of his father, Afrosport reports.
The Chippa United shot stopper lost his father while on international duty during the final round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last November.
He was excused ahead of the final game against Rwanda which Nigeria lost 2-1, witth currently-injured Maduka Okoye standing in to make his first international cap in over two years.
Nwabali has now suffered a double loss by announcing his mother’s death on X
“A very very crazy world indeed. Rip mom, worst year of my life already,” read two separate posts.

The announcement comes less than 24 hours after he thanked the Super Eagles and Nigerian fans for a good year in 2024 and promised to double things in 2025.
The 28-year-old rose to prominence after starring at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast where Nigeria reached the final but lost to the tournament hosts.
