The Super Eagles have concluded 2025 ranked 38th according to the latest FIFA world rankings published on Monday, Afrosport reports.
This ranking reflects a consistent performance since November 19, when they moved up three positions from 41st, maintaining their status as the sixth-best team in Africa.
Overall, 2025 was a mixed year for the Super Eagles, who finished six spots higher than their starting position of 44th. After a brief rise to 43rd in April, they experienced a decline to 44th in July and 45th in September.
However, a significant recovery occurred in October, when Nigeria climbed to 41st and advanced further to 38th in November.
In Africa, Morocco remains the top-ranked team at 11th globally, followed by Senegal in 19th and Algeria in 34th, with Egypt closely behind in 35th.
Globally, the top 10 teams have not changed, with Spain finishing first, followed by Argentina, France, England, and Brazil. Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia occupy the remaining spots.
The next FIFA ranking is scheduled for release on January 19, 2026, after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
