Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo found the back of the net twice as Sunderland played out a 4-4 draw with Hull City in the Championship on Friday.
The Black Cats came into the game on the back of consecutive draws against Luton and table-toppers Burnley and fell behind to Ozan Tufan’s strike in the 11th minute.
The Wearside outfit however responded in the space of one minute through Joe Gelhardt and Amad who fired home from inside the box. Hull made it 2-2 not long after thanks to Allahyar Sayyadmanesh.
The Tiger took the led for the second time via Regan Slater but Sunderland responded back with Diallo scoring from the penalty spot after Jack Clarke went down from a challenge by Alfie Jones before Clarke made it 4-3 nine minutes from time.
Sunderland were however not able to hold on to the slim lead at the Stadium of Light as Tufan equalised again in the eighth minute of added time.
The result means Tony Mowbray’s team are winless in their last four Championship games (D3 L1) and have recorded just one win their last nine league matches (D4 L4) and sit in 11th place, six points away from the promotion playoff places.
