Summer sports on Afrosport TV with FIFA Women’s World Cup, World Athletics Championships &  La Liga

The first continental Free-to-Air (FTA) sports channel in Africa, Afrosport TV has rolled out plans to bring good quality sports content to millions of sports enthusiasts across Nigeria starting from this July.

Afrosport TV has been awarded the rights to broadcast the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup from July 20 to August 20, the World Athletics Championships from August 19 to August 27 and La Liga for the 2023-24 season.

For the FIFA Women’s World Cup that will take place in New Zealand and Australia, Afrosport TV will be showing at least one match per day, starting with the opening match between New Zealand and Norway on July 20.

Football fans across Nigeria will also be able to watch all of the Super Falcons’ games in the competition, starting with their Group B opener against Canada on July 21.

Athletics fans are not left out of the action-packed summer when the 2023 World Athletics Championships starts in Budapest, Hungary on August 19.

Millions of Nigerians can watch national hero Tobi Amusan for free when she defends her world record title in the biggest track and field competition before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games amongst a host of other national and international icons.

Director of Communications at Afrosport, Uche Daramola affirmed the organization’s objectives to make the best sporting events readily available across the country and Africa, at large.

“From the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 to the IAAF World Championship in Budapest and the start of the new La Liga season, we’ve got you covered.

“In addition to the live sports coverage and tournament experience we will be providing, Afrosport will take the conversations to our digital platforms for more fan engagement.”

The excitement continues through the 2023-24 European football league season with live La Liga games for the period of nine months.

Football fans can watch the most-decorated football club in Europe, Real Madrid and Barcelona defend their league title as well as Super Eagles stars Samuel Chukwueze, and Sadiq Umar in action.

Afrosport TV is available to watch on Free TV, channel 730 and its affiliate broadcast partners across Nigeria.
