South Africa-based Daniel Akpeyi believes Bafana Bafana will put up a fight when they take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Speaking exclusively with Afrosport, the former Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper asserted that the West African giants still have what it takes to claim the needed victory after picking up only two points in their first two Group C matches.
He said: “I believe the team has a great crew that should be able to deliver today, but you know again, football is not a thing you play with your mouth, you have to show it on the field of play because I know the South Africans are not coming there to be a walkover, they are coming to put up a fight, but with the quality of the Nigerian team, I believe it’s possible for Nigeria to pick the three points.”
