Liverpool manager Arne Slot has affirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold is “fully focused” on his recovery from injury amid reports of a transfer to Real Madrid in the summer, Afrosport reports.
The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, is reportedly in advanced talks with Los Blancos over a free transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Alexander-Arnold has been out of action since Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final exit to Paris Saint-Germain and missed out on international duty with England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
“His situation is that unfortunately he is injured. Otherwise people probably would have spoken about him having one or two brilliant performances for the England team,” Slot said ahead of Wednesday’s Merseyside derby with Everton.
“But he is injured so for him he is fully focused for his recovery and for us we are trying to help him to be back as early as he can.”
