Palermo have announced Filippo Inzaghi as their new coach on a two-year contract which will take effect from July 1, with the option for a third year, Afrosport reports.
The former Italy forward joins the Sicily outfit after helping Pisa to gain Serie A promotion for the first time in 34 years.
The 51-year-old will now be hoping to help Palermo back into the top flight for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign.
“Palermo FC announces that it has entrusted the role of First Team coach to Filippo Inzaghi. The coach, starting from next July 1st, will be tied to the pink and black club with a multi-year contract.,” read a statement on the club website.
“Inzaghi was welcomed to Palermo by the City Football Group, President Mirri and the entire Rosanero family.”

Palermo will represent the eight club for Inzaghi, who is the older brother of former Inter Milan boss, Simone, now at Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal.
Filippo has previously managed AC Milan, where he spent the bulk of his playing career, scoring 126 goals in 300 appearances, winning eight titles including two Serie A and two UEFA Champions League.
He also managed at Venezia, Bologna, Benevento, Brescia, Reggina and Salernitana, helping Venezia, Benevento and most recently Pisa with top flight promotion.
