Moise Kean was subject to racist abuse online following Fiorentina’s 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan in the Serie A on Monday, Afrosport reports.
The 24-year-old Italian of Ivorian heritage played from start to finish at the San Siro but grabbed headlines after he shared a screenshot of insults he received via direct messages on his Instagram Story.
The last post on his Story came with the caption: “It’s still happening in 2025.”
According to Football Italia, the insults came from both fans Fiorentina and Inter Milan with both clubs condemning the act.
“The club express their support for Moise Kean, who was subjected to severe racist attacks on social media following the match against Inter in Milan,” Fiorentina wrote on X.
“The perpetrators of these actions have been reported to the relevant authorities.”
Meanwhile, Inter replied to Fiorentina’s post stating: “For the values that define our history, we have always stood against all forms of discrimination. We, therefore, stand alongside Moise Kean and Fiorentina in condemning the attacks the Viola striker has been subjected to.”
#BUU #BrothersUniversallyUnited… https://t.co/Hffol9Y9qP

It is the latest report of racism in Italian football after Inter loanee Ebenezer Akinsanmiro was racially abused by Brescia fans in a Serie B game last month.
