Serie A: Como boss Fabregas targets Inter Milan upset in title decider

Como manager, Cesc Fabregas says his team aim to beat Inter Milan in Friday’s Serie A title decider at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Friday, Afrosport reports.

While Como are not in the title race, Inter need to beat them and hope Napoli falter when they play Cagliari at the same time.

The Nerazzurri are second on the table, one point behind the Partenopei, and Fabregas is not looking to do any favours for the 20-time Serie A champions.

“We have to be careful. Inter are strong on the wings,” Fabregas said ahead of the game.

“They are the best team in Serie A and among the best in Europe. They are very strong, but we’ll try to cause problems for them.

“The goal is to always play at our best and do everything possible to try to win the match.”

Inter Milan also have one eye on the Champions League, where they face Paris Saint-Germain in next Saturday’s final in Munich.

Fabregas, however, does not think it will distract Simone Inzaghi’s men from concentrating on the Serie A title decider.

“I don’t think they’ll be affected by the Champions League Final, nor will they think about Napoli,” the Spaniard added.

“They are a strong side with one of the best coaches in Italy.”

Should Napoli and Inter Milan finish tied on the same number of points, there will be a playoff between the two sides on Monday to determine the league winner.

Meanwhile, Como are in 10th place and are guaranteed to finish in that position no matter their result against Inter.
