Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson scored his first Premier League goal for Chelsea in their 3-0 thrashing of Luton Town on Friday night.
Jackson sealed the Blues’ first victory of the season in the 75th minute after Raheem Sterling scored a brace.
The 22-year-old who moved to Stamford Bridge from Villarreal this summer, has started each of Chelsea’s opening games this season.
Jackson’s maiden goal for Chelsea came exactly 19 years and a day after Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba scored his first goal for the London club against a newly-promoted Crystal Palace side on August 24, 2004.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s home win ended their winless start to the season after they settled for a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on August 13 then they bowed to a 3-1 defeat to London rivals West Ham United last week.
They moved to eighth in the Premier League table with four points from three matches.
Friday night’s result is expected to boost Mauricio Pochettino’s side as they get ready for League Cup action against League Two club AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday and their next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on September 2.
