Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo was on target again as Manchester City defeated Fulham 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in Wednesday Premier League action, Afrosport reports.
The former Bournemouth player got things rolling in the 24th minute for his third strike in the league since he joined last month and his fifth in eight competitive games. Overall, it was his 13th league goal combined this term, putting him third in the scorer’s charts behind teammate Erling Haaland and Brentford’s Igor Thiago.
Semenyo went on to assist Nico O’Reilly for the second goal in the 30th minute before Norwegian talisman Haaland added the third goal in the 39th minute for his 22nd league goal of the season, equalling his tally from last term.
The result took City to withing three points of leaders Arsenal who face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a late Vigil Van Dijk header handed Liverpool a 1-0 win away at Sunderland. It was the Dutchman’s 23rd league goal for the Reds, making him the club’s highest scoring defender in the history of the top flight while it was the first home loss for the Black Cats in the league this season.
At Villa Park, James Milner became equalled Gareth Barry’s record of 653 appearances as the player with most appearances in the Premier League in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 1-0 loss at his former club Aston Villa.

At Selhurst Park, Jorgen Strand Larsen’s brace was not enough for Crystal Palace as they surrendered a two-goal lead against Burnley to lose 3-2, Tunisian midfielder Hannibal Hejbri among the goalscorers for the Clarets.
At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest failed to stretch the gap away from the relegation zone after playing a goalless draw with bottom club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
