Saudi Pro League: Mane on target in Al Nassr victory over 10-man Al-Raed

Sadio Mane scored for the sixth time in the Saudi Pro League this season as Al Nassr recorded a 3-1 away win over Al-Raed who finished with 10 men.

The Senegal international has lit up the Saudi Arabian top flight since joining from Bayern Munich in the summer and opened the scoring at the King Abdullah Stadium with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area in added time in the first half. Shortly after, Al-Raed were reduced to 10-men after Bander Whaeshi was given a straight red card for reckless foul that denied a goalscoring opportunity for Al Nassr.

Al-Nassr went further ahead four minutes into the second half courtesy of Anderson Talisca’s long range strike from outside the box. Talisca then turned provider for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to score his seventh league goal of the season in the 78th minute.

Al-Raed manager Igor Jovicevic was given a red card for arguing over a foul that was committed by Al-Nassr’s Abdulelah Al Amri in the penalty box which Morocco forward Mohammed Fouzair scored the resultant spot kick.

Rondo could have made it 4-1 in added time but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Al-Nassr sit in sixth place on the table, one point behind Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq who were 3-1 victors at Abha FC early in the day, Cameroon forward Karl Toko Ekambi netting the only goal for the home team.
