Salah urges Liverpool to “stay humble” in Premier League title race

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has ordered Liverpool to stay humble in the Premier League title race following the 3-1 victory over Leicester City at Anfield on Boxing Day, Afrosport reports.

Salah found the back of the net in the 82nd minute to wrap up the scoring as Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points with a game in hand.

The Reds are now seven points clear of second-placed Chelsea who lost to their London neighbors 2-1 at home.

The Egyptian was very pleased with his team’s performance saying that if Liverpool stay humble they will win the league.

“It feels different [than previous seasons]. But the most important thing is we need to stay humble,” Salah told Amazon Prime per BBC Sport.

“This one is very special, hopefully we win the Premier League and for this club it is something I dream of.

“The most important thing is the team winning – hopefully we win the Premier League. It is great, but we focus on each game and hopefully we carry on like that.”

The 32-year-old has now scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 17 appearances in the league this season.

Liverpool will be traveling to the London Stadium on Sunday to face off with West Ham United.
