Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland made headlines on Tuesday night after being involved in five of Manchester City’s goals in the 6-2 FA Cup fifth round win.
Haaland scored five goals in which De Bruyne assisted four of them, three coming in the first half.
Bernardo Silva assisted Haaland for the fourth goal while John Stones and Mateo Kovacic combined for the sixth goal.
For Luton, former Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley assisted Jordan Jordan Clark for the two goals.
The night was however about De Bruyne and Haaland, with the Belgian’s three first half assists for the tall Norwegian becoming the first time a Premier League player provided three assists in any competition since Diogo Jota did for Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick in Liverpool’s 7-1 demolition of Rangers in the UEFA Champions League group stage in October 2022.
Jota came off the bench in that game in the 73rd minute and laid the ball thrice for the Egyptian superstar between the 76th and 81st minute for Liverpool’s fourth, fifth and six goals.

De Bruyne’s assist was his 12th in all competitions since returning from a hamstring injury earlier this month while it was Haaland’s 27th goal of the season in his 30th competitive appearance.
