Mohamed Salah continued his run of at least scoring or assisting for Liverpool as they defeated Austrian side LASK 3-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Egyptian who scored the Reds third goal of the game made it 12 straight games with a goal contribution and also tied Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry’s European scoring record.
The 31-year-old equalled Henry’s 42 goals in major UEFA club competitions and joined the former France international to become the player with the most goals for a single English club in European tournaments.

Salah, however, got to the number in 20 fewer games than Henry, who did it in 85 games. The Liverpool man scored 41 goals in 64 games in the Champions League and one goal in his first Europa League game with Liverpool, while Henry, on the other hand, netted 35 times in 77 matches in the Champions League and seven goals in eight matches in the UEFA Cup for Arsenal.
Austrian winger Florian Flekker had put LASK ahead early in the game, but Darwin Nunez equalised with a spotkick before Luis Diaz’s flick turned the game around for the Reds.
Salah then sealed the win for Jurgen Klopp’s side with just his third goal of the new season, sending the ball in between the legs of goalkeeper Tobias Lawal and into the far corner.
The victory saw Liverpool seal their fourth comeback in as many games in which they have gone behind in all competitions this season.
Salah could well make the record his own when Liverpool take on Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise at Anfield in their second group game in the Europa League.
