Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has followed in the footsteps of Senegal international and former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane in the Reds 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The 32-year-old became the first Liverpool player since Mane in the 2018-19 season to score in the Reds’ opening three Premier League games following his left-footed strike against their rivals.

The Liverpool No. 11 struck in the 56th minute to seal the victory for the Merseyside club and take his tally to ten goals at Old Trafford, including seven in his last five league games.
United started on the front foot in front of their home fans, but it was the visitors who scored first through England international Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, the defender’s goal did not count as Salah was ruled offside in the build up to the opener.
Arne Slot’s men kept pushing, and they finally broke the deadlock in the 35th minute through Colombian forward Luis Diaz. After benefiting from a lose pass from Casemiro, Liverpool moved the ball quickly to Salah, who stood it up for Diaz to head home at the back post.
The two forwards connected again seven minutes later, with Diaz completing his brace and hitting his fourth goal against United. Casemiro was the culprit again in the midfield as the Brazilian was shrugged off the ball by Diaz, who then linked Salah before getting on the end of the Egyptian’s cutback.
Salah joined the scoring party 11 minutes into the second half restart, finishing off Dominik Szoboszlai’s pass after United’s teenage midfielder Kobbie Mainoo was dispossessed by Alexis Mac Allister.
