RS Berkane have been crowned the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup champions following a 3-1 aggregate win over Simba SC in a two-legged final, Afrosport reports.
The Moroccan champions rallied to secure a 1-1 draw with 10 men Simba at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Sunday, securing their third CAF Confederation Cup title, having won the first leg 2-1 last week in Berkane.

Simba, playing in front of their home fans, were looking to overturn the first-leg deficit, and the Tanzanian side got off to a blistering start as Joshua Mutale opened the scoring in the 17th minute.
The Zambian forward latched on to a brilliant pass from Elie Mpanzu before finishing past goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi.
The hosts, who were reduced to 10 men after midfielder Yusuph Kagoma was sent off for a second bookable offense, kept asking all the questions, but Mohamedi stood resolute in goal for the Orange Boys.
Steven Mukwala thought he had doubled Simba’s lead in the 73rd minute, but his effort was ruled offside after intervention from the video assistant referee (VAR).
With Simba sending more men forward in search of a second goal, Berkane found the equalizer through substitute Soumaila Sidibe in the third minute of second-half stoppage time.
Sidibe scored 15 minutes after coming on for Oussama Lamlaoui, beating goalkeeper Moussa Camara with a right-footed effort from an acute angle to send the visitors into unbeatable jubilations.

Moine Chaabani’s side held on for the victory and claimed another Confederation Cup title, adding to their triumphs in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.
RS Berkane, meanwhile, joined Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien as the only teams in the competition’s history with three titles.
