Plymouth Argyle manager Wayne Rooney has expressed satisfaction over Muhamed Tijani and his performance following their 5-1 pre-season win over Cheltenham on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward, who is on loan from Slavia Prague scored a goal in either half while Guinea winger Ibrahim Cissoko, Morgan Whittaker and Ryan Hardie netted the rest.
It marked the 23-year-old’s first set of goals for Plymouth which Rooney stressed was a sign of how strong their attack was.
“Yeah, it was great [the result], with two new lads getting the goals. TJ [Tijani] getting two and Hardie getting one,” Rooney said after the game.
“So it’s always important when as attacking players you hit the back of the net but yeah I think there was still some very really good attacking plays.
“Defensively, at times we could do a lot better but obviously we are still working on a lot of stuff and it takes a little bit of time but overall, I’m pleased with the performance and obviously, getting a win.”
