Barcelona on Thursday announced that Uruguay international Ronald Araujo has extended his contract with the club until 2031, Afrosport reports.
Araujo joined the Catalan giants in 2018 from Uruguayan side Boston River in a deal worth over €5 million plus add-ons.
The 25-year-old has been a vital member of the Barcelona team in recent years, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 155 appearances with the senior team.

Araujo, a regular with the Uruguay national team, has racked up 20 caps for his country and was part of the team that reached the semifinals of the Copa America last year.
Barcelona are currently third in La Liga on 39 points, seven behind leaders Real Madrid.
The five-time European champions are also through to the knockout round in the new 36-team UEFA Champions League format following a remarkable 5-4 comeback win at Benfica on Tuesday.
Barcelona are in action on Sunday when they host struggling Valencia at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
