Man City midfielder Rodri to miss remainder of the season with ACL injury

Manchester City and Spanish midfielder Rodri is challenging himself with the hopes of returning from his Anterior Cruciate ligament (ACL) injury this season, Afrosport reports.

The midfielder was diagnosed with an the injury in City’s Premier League match against Arsenal in September after being subbed off in the first half.

The 28- year-old told COPE in Spain per Flashscore.com that he hopes to bank on the extended length of this season because of the new version of the Club World cup and perform for his club before the season ends.

He said: “Plus, seasons are longer now. The Club World Cup finished on July 13th. I want to have that mental challenge.

“I have already started talking and I’m feeling better than I thought. At my age you have time to rest and recover well.”

Man City have struggled in Rodri’s absence, losing their last four competitive games which is a first since 2006 and a first in Pep Guardiola’s managerial career.
