French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has suffered an ankle sprain that will keep him out of action for at least a month, Real Madrid revealed on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old France international was replaced by Moroccan midfielder Brahim Diaz ahead of the second half restart in Madrid’s shocking 3-1 home defeat to Italian side AC Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League on Tuesday.

“Following tests carried out today by Real Madrid’s Medical Services on our player Aurélien Tchouameni, he has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle. His progress will be monitored.” the club said in a statement.
Tchouameni has played 15 times for Los Blancos this season and has yet to find the back of the net.
Madrid are currently on a two-game losing streak and they remain second in La Liga with 24 points from 11 matches, nine behind leaders Barcelona, who have played one game more.
The reigning Spanish champions will play fifth-placed Osasuna on Saturday, and will face Leganes and Liverpool in the league and Champions League, respectively, after this month’s international break.
Tchouameni is also set to miss France’s games in the UEFA Nations League, where they will host Israel on November 14, before travelling to Italy three days later.
