Real Madrid representatives alongside Vinicius Junior will not attend the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France, on Monday, Afrosport reports.
Vinicius is expected to battle Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri as well as club teammates Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe for the award.
It was previously speculated that the 24-year-old was set to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or but reports making the rounds suggest that the Brazilian forward will not win the much-coveted honour, which has angered the Madrid hierarchy.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on his official social media on Monday, claimed that Madrid will not attend the ceremony in Paris, and Vinicius will also not win the award,
He wrote: “Vinicius Jr will not travel to Paris as Real Madrid know he will not win the Ballon d’Or. No one from Real Madrid will attend the ceremony. No Florentino Pérez, no Vini Jr, no Carlo Ancelotti, no Jude Bellingham.”

Vinicius led Madrid to a record-extending 36th La Liga title as well as their 15th Champions League title, including scoring in their 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium.
However, Rodri has been photographed making his way to the venue in crutches, as everything points for him to be crowned the winner after Leo Messi won last year’s edition.
