Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) is considering reducing its stake in Paris Saint-Germain following an investigation surrounding the club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Afrosport reports.
QSI currently holds 87.5% stake in the French Ligue 1 club but are currently unhappy with the investigations centred on Al-Khelaifi.
The 51-year-old was placed under formal investigation in France last Wednesday for allegedly engaging in vote-buying, interference with the freedom to vote and complicity in abuse of power, as part of a wider case involving the businessman Arnaud Lagardere.
This comes two-and-a-half years after Al-Khelaifi was cleared of corruption in a case regarding World Cup media rights.
He was also cleared in February 2023 after a corruption investigation into Qatar’s bid for the 2017 World Athletics Championships.
Under the reign of Al-Khelaifi as PSG president since the takeover by QSI in 2011 , the club have won a total 34 including 10 Ligue 1, seven Coupe de France, six Coupe de la Ligue and 11 Trophee des Champions.
