Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has been named the Champions League Player of the Season, UEFA revealed on Sunday.

Dembele led PSG to their first Champions League title and first European treble on Saturday, with the French champions sealing a 5-0 rout of Italian side Inter Milan at Allianz Arena in Munich.

The 28-year-old scored eight goals and provided six assists in 15 games, including four goals in the knockout phase.

Dembele got his first goal on matchday seven as PSG thumped Manchester City 4-2 before bagging a hat-trick in a 4-1 win at Stuttgart on the final day of the new 36-team league phase format.

PSG settled for the knockout playoffs, and Dembele scored twice in their 3-0 first-leg win over Brest. He, however, did not get another goal until the first-leg of last 16 against Liverpool at Anfield, a game they eventually won on penalties.

The France international also scored their only goal in a 1-0 win in the first leg of the semifinals against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Dembele was not on the scoresheet in the final either, but the forward provided two assists and was vital to their fluid attack, which caused numerous problems for Inter’s rearguard.

Meanwhile, PSG’s final hero and Player of the Match, Desire Doue, has been crowned Young Player of the Season.

Doue netted a brace and provided an assist in the final against Inter, becoming the first teenager to score twice in the Champions League final.

The 19-year-old French forward finished the competition with five goals and three assists in 16 games.
