Premier League: Top three clubs to look out for in the 2024-25 season

The 2024-2025 Premier League season begins on August 16, and the footballing world is looking forward to what this new season might bring.

Clubs have made signings, and Afrosport takes a look at three sides that will be of key interest over the course of the season.

Arsenal

The Gunners for starters have made reinforcements to strengthen their defense with the signing of Riccardo Calafiori.

They have also had a great pre-season run coming from two wins in their last two matches. Their star player, Bukayo Saka, also had a great international run with England making it to the Euro 2024 final.

They fnished in second place last season for the second time in a row behind eventual champions Manchester City and will be looking to finally secure their first league in more than two decades.

Chelsea

The Blues are also looking to make a turnaround after their underwhelming form from last season, and have made various new signings in different positions that need to be strengthened and have a new manager in Enzo Maresca.

It will be interesting to see how they line and what they have to offer this season. It will be harder for them to aim for the Premier League title but they are definitely looking forward to securing themselves as a top four team.

Manchester United

The Red Devils are another team looking to make a turnaround in the league after failing to secure a top fort spot last season.

Their FA cup win did allow them to secure a spot in the Europa league but that is not the level that Manchester United should aim to be.

The new signings of Joshua Zirkzee combined with the ever-growing potential of Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo and as well as the defensive signings of Leny Yoro (currently injured), Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, is expected to put Erik ten Hag’s side in better form and shape for the new season.
