OMohamed Salah was the star man for Liverpool against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, with the Egyptian providing two assists in his side’s 3-1 win at the Molineux Stadium.
Despite not being on the scoresheet, the 31-year-old turned provider for Jurgen Klopp’s side as they sealed a comeback win to temporarily go atop the Premier League table.
Wolves were the better team in the first half, with South Korean forward Hwang Hee-Chan putting them ahead early on. They dominated possession and created numerous chances but failed to capitalise on them.

Liverpool came out buzzing with energy in the second half, and Salah’s cross-shot was tapped into an empty net by Dutch forward Cody Gakpo ten minutes after the restart.
The Merseyside outfit continued their dominance in the second half, and it finally paid off 30 minutes later with Salah playing in Scottish fullback Andrew Robertson for his side’s second goal of the game.
The former Hull City defender, who captained his side on his 200th cap, slotted the ball past Wolves goalie Jose Sa, who had initially fluffed a fast break into Robertson’s path.
Salah was also involved in Liverpool’s third goal, as his pass into substitute Harvey Elliot resulted in a shot that was turned in for an own goal by Spanish defender Hugo Bueno.

Liverpool’s No. 11 has started the 2023-24 campaign well with two goals and four assists in five games. He also became the fourth different player to assist a goal in five consecutive Premier League away games.
The victory was their fourth straight win in the league this season and the third game they won after going one goal down.
They currently have 13 points from their first five league games to maintain their unbeaten start to the season and sit at the summit of the league for the first time since May 2022.
