Hurzeler replaced Italian Roberto De Zerbi at the helm in Brighton and the German started the new campaign with a 3-0 win at Everton before following it up with another victory at the Amex Stadium when a late Joao Pedro header sealed a 2-1 win for them over Manchester United.
A hard-fought 1-1 away draw against Arsenal earned Brighton seven points from their first three league games, ensuring they sit third in the Premier League standings entering into the international window.
The German became the youngest ever manager to win the award after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of football experts, beating fellow nominees Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Liverpool’s Arne Slot.
“I think it’s always nice to win a trophy and it confirms your work. It’s not only my work though – it’s the work from the whole club, it’s the work from my staff members, the work from my players,” Hurzeler said in a statement on Friday.
“In the end all who are working in the club and our togetherness that has won this trophy. I’m really happy and now it’s about winning the next trophy.”
The Seagulls will host newcomers Ipswich Town at the Amex on Saturday at 3 p.m. West African Time.
