Patrick Dorgu was sent off as Manchester United defeated Ipswich Town 3-2 at Old Trafford in Wednesday night’s Premier League action, Afrosport reports.
The newly-signed Denmark international of Nigerian heritage was given his marching orders with a straight red card for a dangerous foul on Omari Hutchinson in the 43rd minute.
Before his sending off, Dorgu was culpable for the first goal of the game as miscommunication with Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana led to Jaden Philogene opening proceedings in the fourth minute.
United however found their way back through an own goal from Ipswich captain and Egypt international Sam Morsy and Matthijs de Ligt for a 2-1 lead.
Dorgu’s red card allowed Ipswich to level 2-2 in added time of the first half with Philogene completing his brace. Ruben Amorim’s side were however still able to find the winner which came courtesy of Harry Maguire two minutes into the second half.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were unable to find their way at the City Ground as they were held to a goalless draw by top four hopefuls Nottingham Forest.
The Gunners had a total of 13 shots in the game but only one was on target while nine were blocked by the opposition which left them 13 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool who beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Anfield, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister getting the goals.
Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in North London via Erling Haaland’s 20th league goal of the season which moved them above Chelsea into fourth spot.
At the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford were held to a 1-1 by Everton. DR Congo striker Yoane Wissa put the Bees ahead in added time of the first half but the Toffees equalised through Jake O’brien to extend their unbeaten league run to seven games (W4 D3).
