NBBF: 2024 Men’s Premier Basketball League tips-off on Oct. 25 in Benin and Jos

Port Harcourt has won the bid to host the 2024 Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final Eight scheduled to run from November 13-19, Afrosport reports.

This new development means the Rivers State capital will host the playoffs and finals of the tournament for a second consecutive year, having also done so in 2023.

The eight teams that will be participating in the playoffs this season include Rivers Hoopers, Hoops and Read, Kwara Falcons, and Police Batons, all from the Atlantic Conference, while the Savannah Conference representatives are Gboko City Chiefs, Kano Pillars, Niles University, and Gombe Bulls.

Rivers Hoopers won the Atlantic Conference, while Gboko City Chiefs emerged as winners of the Savannah Conference with a 7-0 record.

The Kings Men won the tournament on home soil last season, lifting their fifth league title as they also secured a spot as Nigeria’s representative at the Basketball League Africa (BAL).

The Final 8 will be played inside the Basketball Stadium in Old Port Harcourt Township, with the winner securing an automatic spot in next year’s BAL.
