The much-anticipated London derby between city rivals Chelsea and Arsenal ended in a 1-1 stalemate at Stamford Bridge in matchday 11 in the Premier League on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli put the Gunners in front on the hour mark, beating goalkeeper Robert Sanchez at his near post after latching on to a sublime defence splitting pass from Martin Odegaard, who returned to the side after an ankle injury kept him about for about two months.
Chelsea, however, were not going down without a fight, and their sustained pressure paid off as Pedro Neto scored the equaliser 10 minutes later from outside the box. After receiving a pass from substitute Enzo Fernandez, the Portuguese hit a left-footed strike into the bottom corner for his first Premier League goal of the season.

The Gunners, now winless in four straight Premier League games for the first time since April 2023, extended their unbeaten run against Chelsea to six matches, while the Blues, currently third in the standings, will end a day in the top three positions in the Premier League standings for the first time since the final day of the 2021/22 season.
Meanwhile, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s tenure as Manchester United’s interim coach ended on the brightest of notes as the 13-time Premier League champions recorded a 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Captain Bruno Fernandes, who was making his 250th appearance for United, opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a beautiful strike into the bottom corner from outside the box, following a nice interchange with Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo.
The Red Devils extended their lead 11 minutes later thanks to an own goal from Victor Kristiansen after the Danish defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net after it had initially hit Fernandes in the thigh.
United made it three in the 82nd minute courtesy of a beautiful curling effort from substitute Alejandro Garnacho, whose right-footed strike beat goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and found the top corner after he was teed up by Fernandes.

The Magpies completed the turnaround by Joelinton in the 72nd minute before Harvey Barnes wrapped up the victory in the 83rd minute.
