Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vitor Pereira says Tolu Arokodare and Jorgen Strand Larsen are not yet fit to play up front together, Afrosport reports.
Nigerian striker Arokodare was a transfer deadline day signing from Genk for £24 million while Swedish striker Strand Larsen was signed permanently from Celta Vigo for £23 million after a successful loan spell last season.
Both players have however failed to feature together in the Premier League this term, though Strand Larsen has played more minutes having started the season but missed two games due to injury.
Arokodare and Strand Larsen are yet to get off the mark in the league but have already scored in the victories over West Ham United and Everton in the EFL Cup.
Pereira speaking ahead of this weekend’s tie with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Molineux, said: “Larsen is is struggling with injury, he needs to be fully fit. He’s not the Larsen that you used to see pressing, fighting, because got some pain and he’s struggling with his injury. He’s trying to help the team in this important moment, but he’s not in his best level.
“Tolu, because the preseason was without games when he started to work with us he was not ready to start a game. But we needed him to start at Newcastle. He tried his best, scored a beautiful goal against Everton, but he is not yet in his best shape.”
