New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury during Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 22-year-old will be sidelined for at least three weeks following an MRI scan on Tuesday.
Pelicans announced that medical imaging taken earlier today confirmed forward Zion Williamson sustained a right hamstring strain during last night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Williamson was having a good game but appeared to be in pain on a fastbreak late in the third quarter, where he scored 10 points.
With the scores at 80–78, he immediately passed the ball to rookie Dyson Daniel before walking off the court.
The Pelicans lost the game by 120-111 – their second straight loss and Williamson finished with 26 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in 28 minutes.
The former No. 1 draft pick is averaging 26 points, seven rebounds and 4.6 assists over 29 games this season.
The Pelicans are currently 3rd in the Western Conference standings with 23 wins and 14 losses, but will surely be put to test with the potential absence of their superstar.
