Patson Daka: Leicester boss Cooper provides update on Zambia forward’s injury

Kudus: Lopetegui defends Ghanaian’s slow start for West Ham

Leicester City manager Steve has provided an update on the injury status of Patson Daka, Afrosport reports.

The Zambia forward has not played any game this season since he suffered a ankle injury during preseason and needed surgery to correct it.

Cooper stated that it was a serious injury and still needs time to recover as Daka continues his rehabilitation.

“He is making progress, it was quite a serious injury and an operation he had to have,” the Welsh tactician said ahead of this weekend’s tie with Southampton.

“He is coming into the final stages of rehab, you won’t see him on the grass, he is very much with the medical team and building his way to being with us. His rehab is on course but it was a serious injury which he needed time to recover from.”

Leicester were promoted back to the Premier League after winning the Championship last season, and have picked up one win and three draws in seven games to currently occupy 15th spot in the standings.
