The South Africa Sevens team progressed to the semi-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics rugby event after recording a 14-7 win over New Zealand on Thursday.
The Blitzboks made it through to the last eight after they thumped Japan 49-5 in their final group game on Thursday.
They made it count against the All Blacks with first half tries from Selvyn Davids and Tristan Leyds enough for the victory.

Other quarter-finals results saw Australia pummel the United States 18-0, Fiji defeated Ireland 19-15 and hosts France overcame Argentina 26-14.
In the ninth to 12th place playoffs, Kenya recorded their first win of the tournament with a 19-14 win while Samoa overpowered Japan 42-7.

The semi-finals will see the South Africa Sevens take on hosts France on Saturday while Fiji will play Australia.
The fifth to eighth place playoff will be between New Zealand and Argentina as well as Ireland and the United States.
The battle for ninth place will be between Kenya and Samoa while 11th place is between Japan and Uruguay.
