Morocco lost 2-1 to Ukraine in their second Group B match of the Paris 2024 Olympics at the Geoffroy Guichard Stadium on Saturday.
The Atlas Lions stunned 2008 gold medallists Argentina 2-1 in their opening match and started on the back foot with Danylo Kryskiv giving the Ukrainians the lead in the 22nd minute.
The game was paused four minutes later due to a heavy fall that involved Morocco forward Soufiane Rahimi who was later reported to be in stable condition by the medical staff.
The Al Ain player levelled maters in the 64th minute from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Volodymyr Saliuk in the box. Saliuk was initially given a yellow card but was later upgraded to a red card after VAR review.
Just when it seemed both sides were going to take a share of the spoils, Igor Krasnopir popped up with the winner deep in added time to hand Ukraine all three points.
