Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen scored the first goal as Napoli defeated already-relegated Sampdoria 2-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday to finish as the Serie A top scorer for the 2022–23 season.
The Nigerian won and converted a penalty in the 64th minute to end the campaign with 26 league goals and claim the Capocannoniere award for the first time since he moved to Italy.
The 24-year-old became the first African player to win the award in Serie A’s 125-year history, a record that caps off his excellently phenomenal season.
