Victor Osimhen bagged a brace as Galatasaray defeated Rizespor 2-1 at the Caykur Didi Stadium on Monday night, Afrosport reports.
After a goalless first half, Osimhen opened the scoring for Galatasaray two minutes after the restart.
The Nigerian headed home a good cross from Polish midfielder Przemyslaw Frankowski to put the visitors in the lead.
Gambia international Ali Sowe restored parity for the host seven minutes later, with another Nigerian forward David Akintola providing the assist.
With the game heading for a deadlock, Osimhen grabbed the winner for Galatasaray four minutes before regulation time.
The 26-year-old headed home Mario Lemina’s initial header to secure all three points for Okan Buruk’s side.

The brace took his tally for the season to 19 goals and five assists in 24 matches across all competitions, including 14 goals in 18 league games.
The result helped Galatasaray remain atop the Turkish Super Lig standings with 63 points, six ahead of second-placed Fenerbahce after 23 games.
