New Napoli manager Francesco Calzona has offered a new update on Victor Osimhen ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Barcelona.
The Nigeria international did not feature in the weekend’s 1-1 home draw with Genoa, with then-manager Walter Mazzarri declaring he was not in the best shape fitness wise after his participation at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mazzarri was sacked on Monday with Calzona, who is the current Slovakia manager, taking over until the end of the season.
On Osimhen’s latest update, the Italian tactician revealed: “Osimhen has been in full training and we’ll assess him in the final training session.”

Osimhen played four times during the Champions League group stage, scoring one goal and providing another assist home and away against Braga.
