Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has confirmed that Victor Osimhen has requested to leave the club, Afrosport reports.
Manna in an interview with SportmediaSet in the build-up to the Partenopei’s Coppa Italia tie with Modena on Saturday, confirmed Osimhen’s desire for a new challenge.
He said: “Victor is a player who wants to leave, and last year there was already an agreement in place.
“We are calm because we have guys in the squad to replace him, we will see what happens in the next 20 days.
“However, we do not want to harm the integrity of the group and want to preserve it.”
Napoli value Osimhen at €130 million, but interested clubs like Paris Saint- Germain, Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly unwilling to match the valuation.
New Napoli boss, Antonio Conte left the 25-year-old out of the squad that won the Coppa Italia 4-3 on penalties after a drab 0-0 draw at regulation time.
The Nigerian striker also did not take part in any of the pre-season games of the 2022-23 Serie A champions.
