Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo is happy with Victor Osimhen’s return after he played a part in their 2-1 Serie A win over Napoli on Saturday.
The Super Eagles forward had been out of action since last month with a hamstring injury and missed nine games in the process, including matches with the national team.
Osimhen was among the substitutes against Atalanta on Saturday and came on to assist Elif Elmas for the winning goal in the 79th minute.
“Victor is very important, he gives us many solutions going forward and we are happy that he is back. He had a great desire to return and this is fundamental,” Di Lorenzo told DAZN.
Winning goalscorer Elmas, speaking on Osimhen said: The goal belongs to him too, not everyone gives away that ball.”

The victory marked a fine second return for manager Walter Mazzarri, who replaced Rudi Garcia before the international break. The Italian tactician waxed lyrical of Osimhen and looks forward to the Nigerian getting back to top form.
“You don’t need to be the coach of Napoli to realise who important Osimhen is for the team,” Mazzarri stated on the club website.
“He doesn’t have a lot of minutes in his legs at the moment and he worked really hard when he came on. He’s a key player for us and he knows we need him.”
Osimhen and Napoli will now turn their attention to the Champions League where they face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, with victory guaranteeing their place in the Round of 16 along with Los Blancos.
