Manchester United have reportedly contacted Napoli over potentially signing Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window, Afrosport reports.
The Nigerian forward is currently on the loan at Galatasaray where he has impressed with 12 goals and five assists in 15 competitive games.
After failing to seal a permanent transfer away from Naples in the summer for over €100 million, Napoli have lowered the asking to €75 million.
According to Sky Sports Switzerland, Man United have already contacted Osimhen’s management and will have no issues agreeing personal terms with the 2023 African Player of the Year.
While Osimhen is contracted to Galatasaray until the end of the 2024-25 season without an obligation or option to buy him, United can cut the loan deal short by sealing his permanent transfer for the asking €75 million price. The English giants might however have to pay a separate fee to Galatasaray for terminating the loan before its end.
The Red Devils have struggled for form this season and currently find themselves in 13th place on the Premier League standings heading into Christmas, and head coach Ruben Amorim will be poised to have an alternative option that can fit his style of play aside from Rasmus Hojlund.
