Nigeria’s top goalscorers in the Serie A, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman have been nominated for the 2022-23 Serie A Team of the Season.
Osimhen joins other stars in the selection as a result of his blistering form that helped him score 23 goals in 29 league goals and his return helped Napoli clinch their first top-flight crown since 1990.
Lookman, on his part, had a fine start to life in Italy with 13 goals in 28 matches for seventh-placed Atalanta.
Other African stars in the running for the recognition are Senegal striker Boulaye Dia who is on a season-long loan from Villarreal and has scored 15 Serie A goals for Salernitana, Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has played a vast majority of Fiorentina’s games in the Serie A with 28 appearances garnered.
