Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, was amongst the early birds at Napoli’s pre-season training despite reports he will be leaving the club in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The striker arrived at Napoli’s Castel Volturno on Tuesday morning to undergo medical examinations before commencing training with his teammates under the guidance of the new manager, Antonio Conte.
The 2022-23 Serie A scorer has been linked to numerous European heavyweights this summer and Conte confirmed during his presentation that the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finalist would likely leave.
The 25-year-old Nigerian penned a new deal with Napoli back in December that runs until the summer of 2026, and includes a release clause believed to be in the region of €130 million.
Osimhen currently earns around €10 million per season in wages on his new deal which might not be feasible for Napoli long-term.
There is no concrete offer yet for the former Lille forward but reports claim the Premier League remains his preference.
A swap deal with Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku has been rumoured early in the transfer window while French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Osimhen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe who has moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Osimhen reportedly has suitors in Saudi Arabia and might move to the Gulf nation if no concrete offer comes in from Europe.
Reports however suggest that Napoli club president Aurelio De Laurentiis may have to lower his asking price if he wants to seal a deal this summer.
