Osimhen: Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG & clubs ciricling for Napoli star

Victor Osimhen is a name on the transfer radar ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window with speculations swirling about the future of the Nigeria striker in Napoli.

The 2023 African Footballer of the Year penned a two-year contract extension at the Serie A club before he left for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and it will run out in June 2026.

Napoli would not risk seeing their prized asset leave their Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for free with several European clubs circling for his services.

Below are the clubs reportedly considering a move for Osimhen who has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season.

Chelsea:

Osimhen has always confessed his love for Chelsea as his favourite Premier League club and the Blues have been linked with the services of the 25-year-old as they look to resolve their scoring problems.

Chelsea have spent over £1 billion in transfers since Todd Boehly’s takeover in May 2022, so they are buoyant enough to meet Napoli’s valuation of the Nigerian.

Paris Saint-Germain:

A return to the French Ligue 1 might be on the cards for the former Lille target man with Kylian Mbappe set to leave Paris at the end of the season. PSG are believed to be considering Osimhen as an option to fill Mbappe’s shoes.

Osimhen spent just a year at Lille, between 2019 and 2020 and he scored 13 goals in 27 league games before leaving France for Italy.

Arsenal:

Mikel Arteta’s men might have scored the highest number of goals in the Premier League this season but there have been calls for additional firepower for the 2024-25 season.

Gabriel Jesus has struggled with injury problems this campaign and Eddie Nketiah has struggled to step up as a long-term solution.

However, Osimhen is being touted as an option for Arsenal who did not make any transfer transactions in January.

Real Madrid:

The Spanish giants are in the frame to sign Osimhen this summer. Real Madrid have the Nigeria striker on their shortlist if they fail to land Mbappe when he leaves PSG.

Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis disclosed in January that Osimhen will either join Real Madrid or an English club.

Saudi Pro League clubs:

Big-spending Saudi Arabian clubs, Al Hilal and Al Nassr are not left out of the conversation for Osimhen.

The Super Eagles star, after the 2023 summer transfer window, confirmed that he received a crazy €200 million offer from Al Hilal which he rejected to continue in Italy.

More of these tempting offers are expected from the Middle East when the transfer market opens in June.
